Creates a new DistanceGrid from the distance data stored in a specified channel of a ChannelGrid.

| ChannelGrid | channelGrid | The ChannelGrid that contains the distance data in one of its channels. This grid will not be modified by this operation. |
| string | channelName | The name of the channel in the ChannelGrid that contains the distance data to be transferred to the new DistanceGrid. This channel must exist and contain data of type float for this operation to succeed. |
